"I am bound to them. Although I cannot look into their eyes or hear their voices, I honor their history. I cherish their lives. I will tell their stories and remember them." ~~Author Unknown

“Remember that every part of you has been woven together by the fabric of your ancestors, the good and the bad. Their blood, their experiences, their pains, their joys all run through you and shape you”.

Learning the history of our ancestors not only gives us a sense of our identity it helps us gain a greater understanding of the challenges they faced, and it often inspires greater love and compassion for their flaws and mistakes.

Celebrating family traditions, embracing our culture, and understanding where we came from can open our eyes to how beautiful and unique we are. It can also give us a sense of self-worth.

I invite you to join me Tuesday January 20th at 7pm for a meditation on the Ancestors. We will thank all of them who have helped shape and create us and for their divine wisdom.

Please go to my website meditation-works.org. Go to Group Meditation and contact me through the "Contact Eileen" link on the left no later than the Monday before Group Meditation to receive the Zoom link.

Breathing in, I am aware that all these hearts are the hearts of many ancestors, with their joy, dreams and suffering.

Breathing out, I am determined to learn to embrace, accept and love all the people around me. E

"Our ancestors lived out of doors. They were as familiar with the night sky as most of us are with our favorite television programs." Carl Sagan

Please give what you can. Money should never prevent anyone from joining us.

The practice of generosity allows us to see the world from the point of view of what we have and what we have to give, instead of seeing it from the perspective of what we don’t have and desperately want.

No matter what we have or don't have, we can all generously share the practice of meditation and compassion with one another.
